Burlington Coat Factory Donates to Salvation Army Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Burlington Coat Factory took action, making a very generous donation to The Salvation Army.

This donation included $50,000 in gift cards and assorted home wares for New Jersey residents affected by this disaster.

“On behalf of Burlington’s 30,000 associates nationwide, we are honored to be able to donate $50,000, along with new merchandise to assist families affected by Hurricane Sandy as they begin to rebuild in our home state of New Jersey. Our thoughts continue to be with those touched by this devastating natural disaster and we are thankful to be able to continue to support their efforts,” stated Tom Kingsbury, president and chief executive officer, Burlington Coat Factory.

The gift cards donated by Burlington have been distributed throughout the state to those in affected regions, and the home wares are currently being distributed by The Salvation Army at its emergency assistance center in Hazlet.

“Burlington’s donation will help people make the transition from living in a new space to truly being home,” said a Salvation Army representative.
