Four Locations Receive 2014 Community Impact Grant Funds
















The Salvation Army was one of many nonprofit groups to receive much needed funds through the United Way’s Community Impact Grants. Earlier this spring, we received $47,500 to help people and families we serve in the city of Alexandria, as well as Arlington, Prince George’s and Prince William counties.

The grant money helps our emergency rental and utility assistance programs in both Arlington and Prince George’s, the STEP program in Prince William–which offers an anti-poverty curriculum and case management, and for ASPA, the Alexandria School of Performing Arts.

“The Salvation Army is grateful to the United Way’s Community Impact Grants,” said Major Lewis Reckline, Area Commander for The Salvation Army National Capital Area.
