The Salvation Army Wants to Help You “Cool off” This Summer

The summer of 2014 has been on the milder side in terms of temperatures (knock on wood!) but the US has still seen a few heat waves. And while fall is right around the corner we’re not quite out of the woods yet.

For many, avoiding the heat is as simple as staying inside with air conditioning, but too many do not have an easy escape from the extreme weather.

In response to the waves of high temperatures, The Salvation Army is actively helping afflicted communities beat the heat and protect against the dangers of hot spells.

These waves can create serious issues concerning heat-related illnesses for those exposed to high temperature environments or involved in outdoor activities.
