Shoes for kids are one of the biggest requests The Salvation Army of Harrisburg receives from the community on a regular basis.
Through their partnerships with local schools, they have learned that, sometimes, kids avoid school simply because they are teased for not having decent shoes to wear. That means new shoes to fit growing feet is a big need, especially during the back-to-school season.
To address this ongoing need, The Salvation Army of Harrisburg Women’s Auxiliary, WIN Women INvolved, created Shoe Strut.
The goal was to hold a fun and memorable event, where guests could network and bid on creative silent-auction items and, most importantly, get behind a worthy cause. [...]
